Dr. Edwards, an American space researcher, discovers a suspicious shadow on the surface of the moon one day. It doesn't take long for her to realize that this phenomenon is caused by a massive meteor approaching Earth at an extraordinary speed. If it strikes, our planet will be in danger of complete destruction. In panic, Edwards warns the government in Washington and orders General Ferris to take necessary measures to save everyone. However, none of these seems to have any effect as the meteor stays on its course. With time running out, NASA wants to send a space shuttle.
